Getting A Library Card
Becoming a member at JPL is super easy. All you really need to show us is proof that you live in Hackensack. Bring two (that’s 2) different things with your name and address on them. That’s it! You can bring:
Driver’s license
Lease
Utility Bill
Tax Document
Bank Statement
An envelope that has a current postmark and date, and which has your name and Hackensack address.
As for children, any child who resides in Hackensack who is in first grade is welcome to sign up for a library card in the children’s room. A parent must be present and show proof of residence for the child to get a card. As soon as a parent or guardian signs for the card, you’re pretty much set!
If you’re under 18 but in eighth grade or higher, you can get an adult card at the main desk. We’ll only ask to see one (that’s 1) thing and you can use your student ID.
