Grading
-
In both physics classes grades are on a total point system. This means every assignment or test has a point value and that point value is totaled during the marking period.
Example point values:
Quizzes= 10-40 points each
Lab reports= 30-40 points each
Homework is counted as 10%
So for one marking period there could be 750 total points.
If a student earned 600 points out of that 750 they would have a grade of 600/750 = 80%.Quizzes are given every Friday we refer to them as Flashback Fridays due to the fact that any topic during the whole year can be tested. Topics will be repeated throughout the marking period and the grade will be REPLACED every time a topic is repeated for good or bad. This ensures the grade reflects the current knowledge of the student.
