A Bittersweet Farewell to Dr. Lauren Kazmark

Hackensack Public Schools is excited to share Dr. Lauren Kazmark's next big career move! After years of dedicated service, our esteemed Director of Curriculum and Instruction is stepping into a new role as Assistant Superintendent in the Wayne Township Public School District.
“We are thankful for her years of dedicated service in Hackensack Public Schools and how she served as a champion for children ensuring they received access to high-quality curriculum,” Superintendent Dr. Thomas McBryde, Jr. said. "Wayne is lucky to have her and we wish her well in her new role."
Dr. Kazmark began her career in Hackensack in April 2015, serving as Director of Curriculum andGrants. Under her leadership, the district’s preschool program blossomed, expanding to include full day programs for three and four-year-olds and earning the coveted "High-Quality" designation from the New Jersey Department of Education Division of Early Childhood Services. Additionally, the district began a new partnership with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH), bringing an integrated curriculum that cultivates growth in learners at every level.
A lifelong learner herself, Dr. Kazmark holds a doctorate of Educational Leadership and a master of arts in Educational Leadership from the College of Saint Elizabeth as well as a master of Education from William Paterson University.
Dr. Kazmark’s efforts to ensure continuous improvement of our curriculum and her desire to ensure our diverse learner have access to a variety of educational programming is greatly appreciated. We wish her all the best in Wayne Township.
