HHS Model UN Competes In Bergen Academies Conference

On Thursday, February 6th and Friday, February 7th, Ms. Durso and Ms. Curreri took eight students to the 21st Annual Bergen Academies Model U.N. Conference.  Among  the eight students were Shalom Cesar (Senior), Christina Feinroth (Senior), Jonathan Fenner (Senior), Daniel Chi (Senior), Emmanuel Singletary (Junior), Vincent Meglio (Junior), Michelle Rueda (Junior), and Gabriella Cardoza (Sophomore).

While all students did a great job, two were recognized for their contributions to the conference.

Veteran member and Senior Officer, Christina Feinroth, served on a specialized committee, FDR's Cabinet, as Secretary of Labor, Frances Perkins. She received the outstanding delegate award for her committee. One of our rookie members, Michelle Rueda, served as a delegate for Denmark in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).  This was her first outside conference and she received a Verbal Commendation recognition for her committee.

We are very proud of their achievement as there were over 550 students from about 25-30  schools who participated.
