Land Acknowledgement

 

This year the Hackensack Board of Education officially recognized Indigenous Peoples Day on its school calendar.   Furthermore, the Hackensack Board of Education approved a Land Acknowledgment resolution at its October meeting.  In November, which is Native American Heritage Month, the Hackensack Board of Education held a Land Acknowledgement Ceremony with Chief Perry (Maua Dewaine Perry) and other tribal members of the Ramapo-Munsee Lunaape Nation on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Board of Education Office (the event was live-streamed on our regular You-Tube Channel and the recording can be viewed here).
