Homework is important because it can improve your children's thinking and memory. It can help your children to develop positive study skills and habits that will serve them well throughout their lives. It can encourage them to use time well, to learn independently, and to take responsibility for their work. Children need to know that their family members think homework is important. Your interest can spark their enthusiasm and lead them to believe that homework can be rewarding.
So, how can you help your child?
1. Set a regular time for homework.
2. Pick a place.
3. Remove distractions. (Turn off the television.)
4. Provide supplies and identify resources.
5. Set a good example.
Show your child that the skills learned are important for his/her future.
6. Be interested and interesting.
