READ through information and look at as many portfolios for samples of styles and unique concentrations so you can. Familiarize yourself with the various processes, developing a portfolio: a body of work throughout the year with the use of design elements & principles we will be working with.

current projects to date should include :
abstract mark making charcoal design- four images -larger repetitive design
portrait references to be included & incorporated into free association background
free projects generated at home
entries into personal ongoing sketchbook
collect imagery to be placed in collaged paper
self portrait from observation
observational still life of geometric forms incorportaed into unique composition
ARTISTS to be referenced
personal conferences with each student will include researching artists reflecting similar style-
critical presentation to class explaining personal work by each student
group critiques of fellow students work to develop constructive critism
TREE SYMBOLISM PROJECT- imagery relating to trees incorporating a message
PORTRAITof someone in class from observation- also a portrait of someone at home to be completed as a final piece
SELF PORTRAIT FROM UNUSUAL ANGLE OR PERSPECTIVE
the concentration projects ongoing throughout year should be generated by student with work done at home as well as classroom
JOURNALS & SKETCH BOOKS SHOULD BE DRAWN IN EVERYDAY to generate more free projects from original ideas -students responsible for research on artists of their choosing that relate to their style of art-teacher student conferences every day- 5 or 10 minute discussion to prepare for project critics and class assessment of work

PROCESS includes gathering random images from various sources and saving collage clippings for making dreamy & mysterious compositions for interpretive picture prompts -This imagery created will be used for writing assignments. Surrealistic collages and writing generated by original class artwork.
