    What is the SHS?

     

    The Sociedad Honoraria Hispainica (SHH) is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and Portuguese and is sponsered by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). The purpose of the society is to recognize hgih achievement of high school students in the Spanish and Portuguese languages and to promote a continuing interest in Hispanic and Portuguese studies.

     

    Mission Statement:

    To promote the academic excellence and interest of the Spanish language and to feed the need for education; to strive to make a difference, to express the importance of getting involved, and to benefit domestic and international communities through a variety of service opportunities.

     

    What are the benefits of being a member of the SHS?  

    • It increases awareness of the Spanish language and culture in the community.
