• How do I register my child?

    On Tuesday, March 10, 2020 call (201) 646-1062 beginning at 9:00 am for your initial registration appointment. 

    When you call, you will give contact information as well the name and birthdate of your child. 

    This phone call will be limited in time, as we need to keep lines open. During this phone call, we will not be able to answer questions. 

    At the conclusion of the phone call, you will receive a confirmation number and an in-person registration appointment which will allow you to complete the registration process.

    When you come to your appointment, you will need to bring: 

    • Parent/Guardian Personal Identification
    • Three Proofs of Residence (Examples include but are not limited to: PSE&G Bill, Cable Bill, Phone Bill, Lease/Rental Agreement, Deed to a home, Current Tax Bill)
    • Immunization records
    • Child's Birth Certificate

    Please note: The registration process is not complete until this appointment and the appropriate documentation is provided. Missed appointments or incomplete registration could result in losing a spot in the program. Registration is first come, first served.

  • Where will my child be registered?

    Hackensack Public Schools offers 12 classes at in-district locations as well as classes at the following Private Providers: 

    Little Learners Child Development Center at 47 Essex Street in Hackensack

    Appletree Preschool at 140 Hudson Street in Hackensack

    In district classes will be filled first, unless a parent/guardian requests a spot be held with a specific provider. Parents being offered a spot in a private provider have the right to visit providers and choose the center they wish to use (pending space in that center is available).

    The in-district locations follow the Hackensack Public Schools calendar.  Partner providers may be open at other times (i.e. holiday breaks, spring recess, summer months, etc.) for a cost.
