Each day I encounter dozens of people, whether they be doctors, postal employees, supermarket clerks, etc. Any time I mention that I am a music teacher, their eyes light up. This is usually followed by a story of when he/she was a child and had an unforgettable musical experience, but, for some reason, were not able to pursue their dream of performing music. It is clear that they have a passion for music, but for whatever reason, were not given the opportunity to pursue it in their schooling. Or, they still practice, but maybe not as much as they'd like to.
My goal here in the Hackensack elementary schools is to give students an unforgettable experience through music, and provide a solid foundation from which they can work from no matter how far they choose to go. I do not expect each and every student to become a musician or a music educator (although that'd be great!), however I provide the tools that they need to do so in the event of such an opportunity. At the very least, your child will experience a very unique, challenging facet in the wonderful world of music!
In addition, studies have shown that children who study music benefit and perform better in other academic areas, and acquire special qualities such as acute concentration and higher test scores, than students who do not participate in a music program. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime! I'm here to make sure that we work together to get your child to become the best musician he/she can be. If you haven't started yet, please encourage your child to make music an important part of life!
As always, I love to keep the lines of communication open, so please contact me with any questions, concerns, or inquiries that you may have.
I look forward to seeing you at our Spring and Winter Concerts!
